Barkev Daron received his Bachelor’s in 2011 from the Southern California Institute of Architecture where he was awarded consecutive scholarships for his portfolio and graduated with distinction for his academic achievements. Since then, he has contributed to several award-winning projects with select design studios in Los Angeles garnering recognition from the AIA.

Barkev is an Associate member of The American Institute of Architects (AIA). He has received certification for proficiency and commitment to the profession of interior design from The Council of Interior Design Qualifications (CIDQ). Conjointly, he has attained Evidence-based Design Accreditation and Certification from The Center for Health Design (CHD). Daron has also attained a series of credentials as an accredited professional including: WELL AP from The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), SITES AP from The Green Business Certifications Inc (GBCI), and LEED AP in four specialties inclusive of: 'Neighborhood Development', ‘Interior Design + Construction’, ‘Building Design + Construction’, and 'Homes' from The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

I am wholeheartedly grateful for the opportunities I have had to contribute to prestigious design studios such as Studio PCH, and Schmidt Architecture. I am furthermore grateful for the mentorships of the principals/founders of those studios: Severine Tatangelo (Sev), and James Schmidt (Jim) who have each uniquely contributed to the augmentation of my deeply rooted passion for custom high-end single family residential architecture and interiors.

Through Sev, I developed an unyielding dedication to the attentiveness demanded by the extensive coordination of various trades and moving parts involved with the accuracy in delivering a highly refined space for one to experience. Through Jim, I developed a profound understanding of planning, rationalizing, and conceptualizing the design of a house in the true spirit of mid-century modern architecture by way of Southern California from Los Angeles to Palm Springs.

I would also like to express gratitude to Laura Seccombe who I had the privilege of working in collaboration with while at Studio PCH, and whom I have come to appreciate as an exceptional designer and curator of interiors. Through Laura, I developed a trained eye and knowledge of the care, meticulousness, and specificities involved with the hand selection of finishes ranging from exotic wood species and particularities of their granular directionality to imported slabs of stones and consistencies of their hues and coloration.
